Douglass Campbell
Founder & Chairman

As Founder, Chairman and Chief Technology Officer, Doug is responsible for defining the company’s overall product roadmap, architecture, and long-term strategic direction while providing corporate governance as Chairman. He ensures that DC Systems continues to build on its strong reputation for product leadership, quality, and customer service.
Doug was one of the original developers of the DC Systems RT Smart Grid Platform, now used by utility companies, large energy users, and power generators in North America, South America and New Zealand. He has built systems and software for energy management since the early 1980s, and has been instrumental in developing innovative products for the energy industry.
Prior to founding DC Systems in 1990, Doug served as Executive Vice President at Advanced Logical Solutions, a manufacturer of remote data acquisition systems and software for the electric utility industry. He also held engineering, marketing, and sales positions at several other high-growth technology companies.



Kenneth Munson
Chief Executive Officer

As Chief Executive Officer, Ken is a recognized leader in cloud-based demand-side management, grid analytics, and intelligent energy storage technology. He joined the Company in April 2018 serving as Chief Operating Officer. As CEO, Ken continues to lead the company's overall growth.
Most recently, Ken was CEO of Sunverge Energy, a startup he co-founded in 2009 that provides a cloud-based platform for managing fleets of intelligent energy storage systems and virtual power plants serving utilities and consumers in the US, Canada, and Australia.
Prior to co-founding Sunverge, Ken has spent the majority of his career in senior leadership positions in emerging industrial technology markets both domestically and internationally having spent nearly 20 years in Europe, Japan, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Ken graduated from California State University at Sacramento with bachelor's degrees in Marketing and earned his MBA from St. Mary's College of California Graduate School of Economics and Business Administration.



Ralph Spaulding
Vice President of Engineering

Ralph joined DC Systems in 2004, after serving as an engineering consultant to the company since 1995. He was the principal developer of many features of the DC Systems RT Smart Grid Platform. He manages new product development, enhancements to existing applications and customization to meet customer requirements. He is also responsible for DC Systems customer technical support, and is the primary instructor for the company’s RT Smart Grid.
Prior to joining DC Systems, Ralph was the Vice President of Professional Services for Vizdom Software, and Chief Technical Officer of Enlighten Software Solutions. He also served as the Director of Product Development at Talarian Corp., Senior Research Engineer at Lockheed Missiles and Space Corporation, and Test Engineer at General Electric.  He trained in the nuclear power program in the United States Navy, and served with honor aboard the USS Nimitz.


Dave Thomas
Vice President, Channel Sales

As DC Systems’ Vice President of Channel Sales, Dave is responsible for developing and managing the company’s partners and channel go to market strategy. He joined the business in October 2018 and is responsible for driving revenue growth in key market segments while overseeing relationships with strategic partners, value-added resellers, and consulting firms. Dave has an exceptional reputation in the power sector for building elite sales teams and strong strategic partnerships. Prior to joining DC Systems, he held leadership positions at Ametek Power Instruments, GE Digital Energy and RAD Data Communications, all of which were focused on global power markets and smart grid applications.
At GE, under Dave’s leadership, he built a market leading optical communications business for the utility market from the ground up. He also developed a successful go to market strategy at Ametek Power Instruments, driving double-digit growth for a broad range of products focused on power quality, revenue metering, protective relaying and smart grid applications.
Dave studied Electronic Engineering at Ohio State Universoity and ITT Technical Institute and is a trained Six Sigma Green Belt and Six Sigma Champion. He regularly speaks at industry trade shows and conferences about distribution automation, cybersecurity, IT/OT network integration, and smart grid technologies.



Jordan Campbell
Director of Account Management

Jordan joined the DC System’s Team in 2014. As the Director of Account Management, he directs the installation and maintenance of DC System’s Real Time Smart Energy Suite. Jordan and his integral team members employ a wide variety of technical experience and provide outstanding customer support to our DC System’s family. Under Jordan’s direction, challenges become opportunities that are matched only by the attention to detail and the creative flexibility needed to insure success.
Jordan attended California State University Chico and spent nine years in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He has been awarded with the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal.




Thomas Allen
Program Manager, Engineering

Tom brings over 20 years of engineering leadership experience at startups and multinational organizations. His extensive career highlights include the development of sophisticated insider-threat detection systems, managing the development and implementation of training and test data for the iPhone X facial recognition system, and scaling a startup engineering team developing a cloud based emotion recognition neural network. As a hands-on engineer Tom developed the Johnson Controls Galaxy SCADA system and spent 8 years as an expatriate installing, configuring, and commissioning them in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia.
Tom holds a Graduate Certificate in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University. Tom is also a Certified Project Management Professional, Certified ScrumMaster, Certified Scrum Product Owner, and Certified Systems Professional.
